COVID-19 Update Nepal

We are relieved to be able to inform you that, to date, that there have no cases of Covid-19 in Tsum-Nubri, where CAN operates - although cases are increasing in other parts of Gorkha.

The most affected areas are in the Terai in the south and in the Kathmandu Valley with the Government of Nepal re-imposing a lockdown. CAN health staff continue to work closely with the Rural Municipality and are helping with testing and supporting quarantine arrangements, as well as maintaining the delivery of a primary care service across Tsum-Nubri.

The CAN health posts are well stocked with medicines and equipment with sufficient food available locally in the short term. Murari and our staff in Kathmandu are all currently working from home during lockdown. This is a testing time for

the people of Nepal as the virus now seems to be peaking.

We thank all of you for your continued support as we maintain our effort to contain the spread of the virus and sustain the livelihoods of the communities in our regions.
