Disaster Relief Appeal

As many of you will be aware a devastating flash flood has hit the Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Gorkha districts of Nepal and further downstream along the Trishuli and Bhote Khosi rivers.

As we keep watch over the coming days, our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected in the region.

As our supporters will know, we currently operate in the North Gorkha region, which has not been directly impacted by the flood. However we have been asked to assist with the relief and recovery by the government. Immediate relief efforts will include emergency food supplies and assessing initial health requirements within the affected areas.

In the medium to long term, we will be supporting the relief efforts and subsequent reconstruction either through a local NGO or directly to Prime Minister Shah’s recently opened fund to co-ordinate the work at government level.
