The 2016 celebration of Kukur Tihar [Nepal’s Day of the Dog] which was held at Hutton in the Forest on Sunday 2 October was a great success and we want to thank all those who came and gave their support to the three charities, Community Action Nepal, the Kathmandu Animal Treatment Centre and Kathmandu Contemporary Arts Centre. Over 50 people plus dogs joined the walk and enjoyed an invigorating walk through the park and farmland looking resplendent in their kata scarves and the dogs looked superb with their garlands.
The church of St James was packed for the service led by the Reverend Philip Dorling and the “whole” congregation behaved impeccably especially the four legged members. Not a growl or a howl and certainly no barking although a degree of vigorous tail wagging took place.
All donations, together with the gift aid which will be reclaimed from HMRC, will be shared between the charities.
With many grateful thanks to Lord and Lady Inglewood for not only offering us such a warm welcome but also for looking after us so well. Thank you.
