CAN Mountain Arts Festival and Kendal Film Festival 2015

It’s been a hectic few months for the events team at CAN.

This has included organising the major nationwide lecture series celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Doug’s ascent of Everest South West Face and more recently CAN’s inaugural Mountain Arts Festival at Rheged, Penrith and CAN’s participation in the Kendal Mountain Film Festival.

Full reports will be posted  shortly on these events, but here is a sneak preview:

The MOUNTAIN ARTS FESTIVAL featured music, poetry, painting, writing, dance, exhibitions, book signings and more. Please click on the festival  images below to them full size.

CAN has been a long time supporter of the Kendal Festival and once again held a CAN stand at the Brewery Arts Centre.

Two highlights from the event were the £1000 raised by James Anderson-Bickley who ran a chai stand selling this delicious hot brew on behalf of CAN and the official handover of £24,789 raised by the BMC for CAN’s earthquake appeal.

Many thanks to all who continue to  fund raise for Nepal – whether large or small.

CAN could not organise and run fundraising events and activities without the support and help of its loyal team of volunteers. In no particular order and apologies for any omissions:  thanks to Paul Murphy, Steve Goodwin, Helen Costelloe, Rita Price, David Nightingale, Greg Rowe, Angey Lowther, Geoff Price and Ron Kenyon for their help at these two recent events.
