Recollections will be shared about the physical and psychological challenges faced by the team on the mountain, Doug Scott and Dougal Haston’s successful summit bid and epic bivouac and the sad loss of Mick Burke a day later.

Peter Boardman and Pertemba’s successful summit achievement a day or so later, and their harrowing descent will also be remembered. Sir Chris Bonington and other members of the 1975 British team will re-evaluate their achievement and assess how it marked the end of an era dominated by big expeditions and prepared the way for a new alpine climbing style in the Himalaya.
