This exciting charity event is being run by Andrew Milne and will take place on Saturday 3rd October 2015 at 5pm at The Whisky Exchange Whisky Show in Old Billingsgate.
Five whiskies will be featured, all from the Japanese distillery of Karuizawa which closed down in 2001. As a result supplies are very limited and extremely rare. Four of the whiskies on taste have recently been released and have already sold out; one will be a new release launched specially for the event.
Guests attending will be able to sample all five of the whiskies and take home their own bottle of the newly released whisky at the end of the event.
The Whisky Exchange wishes to support five Nepalese charities this year and Community Action Nepal is delighted to have been chosen as one of the five. The other four include Help Nepal Network, Maiti Nepal, The Nepal Trust and SWAT & Your One Wish.
Anyone interested in participating in this once in a lifetime opportunity should check out the website: www.whiskyshow.com: Tickets will cost £6,000.00 per person but all money raised will be shared by the charities. For more information please click this link. CAN has taken the decision that any money raised from this event will be restricted and used in the rebuilding of the Bahrabise School for Deaf Children. Miraculously no one was hurt in the earthquake but the children were inside when the quake struck and, not being able to hear what was going, were completely traumatised. The children and staff remain in temporary accommodation. As you can imagine living in a tented camp at the best of times presents a challenge but living in a tent through the monsoon is particularly difficult for them all. Pictures of the damage have been posted on the website.
As only fifty bottles of this whisky have been produced tickets will be restricted to a maximum of 45 and a ballot will take place on Friday 4th September 2015 so hurry now to express your interest and avoid disappointment.Go Back
