LECTURE TITLE: ‘Significant and Joyous Moments of Being in the Mountains’

Doug Scott CBE, the first Englishman to climb Mount Everest, gives a very personal account of his highs and lows in a lifetime spent amongst the world’s highest mountains

Doug will explore his climbing from humble beginnings, using his mother’s washing line as a rope in Derbyshire, through to later ground breaking routes in the Himalaya.  Featured climbs include Everest, the Italian Dolomites, Mount Asgard in the Arctic Circle and his epic tale of survival on the Ogre in Pakistan.
