Dog Day at Hutton in the Forest 2012

Community Action Nepal and Kathmandu Contemporary Arts Centre celebrated The Nepalese Day of the Dog ‘Kukur Tihar’ with a sponsored Dog Walk
Sunday 16 September 2012 at  Hutton in the Forest, Penrith

For one day a year in Nepal all dogs, including strays, are paid respect.  They are decorated with a tika spot and a garland of flowers and  prayed to so they will  guard against the ‘underworld’.  A  special dog walk was held at Hutton in the Forest,  where our dogs followed these ancient Nepali traditions.  Photos and a report of the fundraising event can be found by visiting Kathmandu Contemporary Arts Centre’s website: click here Kathmandu Contemporary Arts Centre
